The creative director is part storyteller, part visionary and part evangelist. Branding is created around who you are, what you want to be, and the ideas or impression you want to convey to others. Visually outreaching to all those around. A brand specifically can be a name, term, design, symbol, logo, color or other feature that distinguishes an organization or product from its rivals in the eyes of the customer. When you say church, people can immediately invision it, but the flavor or spirit of your church might be far away from the norm. This is wehere communication and branding can really help. Brands are used mostly in business, entertainment, marketing, sports, food and advertising. Jesus is a brand, a name brand.
When we look at the brand of Jesus or Christianity there comes a problem. Jesus did not want us to sell anything or intice people to love things, but only to read the Word, follow him, spread the gospel and Good News to all who would listen. In this case we can collect our ideas in the form of a communication or message thru our church products, handouts, sermon notes and audio / visual media. Actually people coming to Christ are used to nicely designed things in their world, so we can follow and create the same uniformity as we Glorify God.
For your ministry, outreach or other faith based programs gathering up and refining your message and brand can be deployed across many channels easily and quickly. Keeping ideas and the communication clear is a goal. |
